Microsoft Project® Methods for the PMM (MSP)

Delivery Format: Instructor-led on-site

Duration: 1.5 days

Audience: Current users of Microsoft Project® who have taken the 3-Day PML course.

Prerequisites: Project Management & Leadership (PML)

Overview:
Building on skills from the PML course, participants will learn how to create and maintain a great project schedule. This course teaches how to use Microsoft Project® to implement a PMBOK®-compliant Project Management Methodology, and builds skills through a real-life case study and numerous labs. S2insight supplies custom views, macros, fields, and reports to enhance the scheduling experience.

Topics Include:

  • Initializing the project file, calendar, and defaults.
  • Creating a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and efficient data entry.
  • Analyzing and optimizing the critical path.
  • Resource assignment and leveling.
  • Transitioning to schedule management, and establishing a baseline.
  • Tracking and updating the schedule.
  • Variance analysis and schedule re-optimization.
  • Customizing the schedule.
